Knowledge
I knew that this would happen soon enough,
But I wasn't prepared for what I'd feel.
I know I'm stronger; I know that I'm tough,
But this feeling makes everything unreal.
I know I'm haunted by this memory,
But I only remember the sorrow.
I know that love gives you much more to see,
But I was blinded by love's dark shadow.
I know I can come in out of the rain,
But I find empathy in this abyss.
I fall back to the open arms of pain,
Pain unknown. Oh God, ignorance is bliss.
I know that I can't wish for things because,
It's too late to yearn for what never was.

I like the simple rhyming pattern and the rhythm that goes along with it.
It's hard to choose my favorite part, since it is all intertwined, but:
"I know I can come in out of the rain,
But I find empathy in this abyss.
I fall back to the open arms of pain,
Pain unknown. Oh God, ignorance is bliss.
I know that I can't wish for things because,
It's too late to yearn for what never was."
