THE GREAT COMMISSION
Some days ago I received an anonymous call
From a dude I can tell from Adam I’ve never met at all
Picked up my phone and I was like hello, who are you?
Haba! Was his response he said we were friends since 1992
Claiming he was my childhood friend! it must be from the blue
Years have passed without a doubt we’ve lost contact he said
No apprehensive thoughts conceived yet in my conscious mind
But I was trying to figure out his identity right inside my head
He proceeded to ask me if I was Tersoo coz he wanted to be sure
Yes I am, I replied; don’t be offended I don’t think I know you before
He reassured me to be calm he would make himself known for sure
Well I’m like ok, tell me wasap? It’s been long how did you get my digits
Hmmm he stuttered before saying it wasn’t important let’s forget it
He was talking kinda vague the call barely lasted for a minute
Then he asked me to call him back coz he was running out of credit
Well in my usual manner of being polite I called back out of curiosity
By then he had composed himself and was talking to me with familiarity
Something was telling me this dude was trying to play down on my humility
But another voice told me not to jump in haste in regards to his motive
Coz as a sure man wey I be” I no be maga” wey him fit easily deceive
Our conversation proceeded to my surprise he knew so much about me
Our primary school experience and good old days he reminded me
I was really stunned by his graphic description of events of the past
But to be honest I was trying to unravel who he was behind the mask
I needed to know, his voice sounded known but I felt uneasy to ask
Feeling of guilt started to overwhelm me! Thinking I forget things so fast
Deep down inside of me I searched for clues going back memory lane
I was like how did he recall everything vividly; he’s got an incredible brain
He laughed saying we were birds of the same feather ain’t nothing changed
Oh really I was bemused by his revealing claim; to me it sounded strange
I was trying to probe the things he said thoroughly to find a flimsy fault
But he appeared to be smarter than I was so I couldn’t get a positive result
We talked on the phone but I was beginning to feel his physical presence
The more we spoke further the more it appeared he was reading my essence
And he could easily say the things on my mind I was intending to speak
Lo and behold he appeared before me and I saw he resembled my physique
My spirit almost jumped out of my thick skin; I couldn’t fathom his mystique
Then he told me he had been watching me from a distant alien space
The chaos and ignorance engulfing the world he came to displace
But then I summoned the courage to ask him why he came using my face
He’s reply was in an alien language but I knew he mentioned a word like change
And how does that involve me when I’m nobody I can’t do shit on my own
Then he approached me holding a pen which its tip was a burning flame
Handed it over to me, he said don’t forget the pen is mightier than a sword
A war is going on; forces of evil against good are trying to conquer this world
And I am hereby commissioned to fight without fear until thy kingdom come
From then hence forth Truthfully Enduring Revolutionary Smart Outshining
Oppositions was born which the name TERSOO represents in short form.
