your t-shirt
your t-shirt
lies half forgotten in my drawer
among the clothes I never wear
waiting like some angry predator to pounce
remember when I wore it home
after one to many drinks
spent the night laying in your arms
we talked about so many things.
you said that you would change.
Remember waking up next to me?
as we had so many times before
my head against your chest
legs entangled.
I slipped into your shirt
discarded mine that reeked
of stupidity and alcohol
I wore it home over
my miniskirt and cowboy boots
and giggled like a little girl
who had done something just a little wrong
now wrinkled and forlorn it lies
you never returned to take it back
seems that all we can do is fight
your t-shirt reminds me that you lie
lies half forgotten in my drawer
among the clothes I never wear
waiting like some angry predator to pounce
remember when I wore it home
after one to many drinks
spent the night laying in your arms
we talked about so many things.
you said that you would change.
Remember waking up next to me?
as we had so many times before
my head against your chest
legs entangled.
I slipped into your shirt
discarded mine that reeked
of stupidity and alcohol
I wore it home over
my miniskirt and cowboy boots
and giggled like a little girl
who had done something just a little wrong
now wrinkled and forlorn it lies
you never returned to take it back
seems that all we can do is fight
your t-shirt reminds me that you lie
