Pretending
we've been stumbling over the stones they throw in our way
pretending we are fine when we're far from okay
broken hearts and damaged souls
are almost all that we know
but what is love if it cannot prevail?
who are we if we lose ourselves?
so close yet so distant from where we need to be
I want to see the sun rise to overcome the darkness
and heal that hurt that blinds our weary eyes
There is so much worth giving, but we'll lose it all if we
don't take a stand, figure out a plan
Life is precious and we're taking it for granted
now only dreams come as sweet release
but a wish may come true if the stars align
in our open hearts, though we fall apart
You have the power to put us all back together
if we stop pretending
We've overextended our final reserves of strength
claiming we can make it when we never will
hidden faults and secret flaws
are everything that we hide
but what is hope if it does not outlast?
how can we say we don't falter?
this road is so rocky but You can see the end
I want to see the sun rise to overcome the darkness
and heal that hurt that blinds our weary eyes
There is so much worth giving, but we'll lose it all if we
don't take a stand, figure out a plan
Life is precious and we're taking it for granted
now only dreams come as sweet release
but a wish may come true if the stars align
