Mouse Game
A mouse was in my room
And I chased him with a broom
I chased him all around the floor
Till he found his way through the door
He ran around the compound
As I chased him around
He sped past on to the street
I followed in great speed.
A voice persisted
In my head.
If David could kill Goliath
Why can’t you kill a rat?
With determination, I chased harder,
In frustration, he raced faster
Until he came close to a bush
He dived into it with a rush
I would have gone after him
But for my aching limb,
I returned to my apartment
Through faces of wonderment.
After a while in my house,
Something dashed across the floor, it was a mouse.
And I chased him with a broom
I chased him all around the floor
Till he found his way through the door
He ran around the compound
As I chased him around
He sped past on to the street
I followed in great speed.
A voice persisted
In my head.
If David could kill Goliath
Why can’t you kill a rat?
With determination, I chased harder,
In frustration, he raced faster
Until he came close to a bush
He dived into it with a rush
I would have gone after him
But for my aching limb,
I returned to my apartment
Through faces of wonderment.
After a while in my house,
Something dashed across the floor, it was a mouse.
