tired of watching
the downfall of society
what once was intelligent
is now reality tv
It's crazy
aliens built the pyramids
gave us influenza my God
does it ever end
I realize this is shallow ranting
but I really am enraged
that I have to be awake past one
to see something that feeds my brain
I don't think we are stupid
but can't anyone else see
that there is a contradiction
of history and reality tv.
I guess I wouldn't mind it
but it does seem to reflect
that our minds are slowly dying
an agonizing death
when we are spoon fed
crap
that we passively imbibe
it's no wonder that we have no
creativity or life.
but what is really scary
is that no one knows how to think
in this world we are creating
we will be the slaves

Very well put, 7 plus years no tv and better off for it..... Ofcourse somewhat stay out of touch with the world.... Ah who cares.... Love your reflection

Thanks, am a history nerd. So I finally put my rant into poem form. :) And, I commend the no tv thing. I just don't think I could do it, well maybe if I had a library :)

true, everyone's too busy, reacting too much to sort of sit back and think too much. with enough time, any soul/mind can reach its potential. (that sounds too hopeful?) indeed, it's uncharacteristically hopeful of me, but i know it probably won't come to pass, sadly. and i don't know for sure, but i sort of gather, that a lot of people really do see reality tv as..something they'd rant against if they cared enough to do so.
hah, a couple years ago i wanted to write a poetry chapbook regarding the history channel--i wasn't watching it much anymore, and what i did see of it, i'd started thinking of as sort of a joke. granted, there may have been plenty of good material on the channel.

I love history, and while some of the shows are good , they have little or nothing to do with actual history. I miss the documentaries that used to come on.
