"Do All to the Glory of God"

How are we to decide which is right:
(a)The Young Earth view? Or is it,
(b)the Old Earth position?

Which is the truth?
(a)The view that the Earth and universe is just 6,000 years old, or
(b)the view that the Universe has been here for billions of years.
Well, we read in the New Testament, "Whatever you do,
Do all to the glory of God"(1 Corinthians 10.31).

This gives us a way to decide the "origins" question.
Whichever Creation narrative gives more glory to God,
THAT Creation account is the one to choose!

Does Genesis, chapter one, give glory to God
Or, is it the Big Bang Theory that glorifies God?!

Genesis says God Created planet Earth first,
Before the universe, before anything else!
The Earth - by itself - without any context.
Earth as an orphan planet, created in a vacuum.
The context (the universe) is added after the fact.

But the Big Bang theory says the universe came first.
The Earth's arrival is part of an integrated whole.
Earth is part of a galactic system,
And on a lower level, a planetary system.
The whole solar system comes into existence together,
as a small part of a vast galaxy of 100 billion stars.

Systems require systematic thinking,
Which in turn presents God as creating via Wisdom,
Fulfilling the words of Proverbs 3.19:
"By Wisdom the LORD..established the heavens."
And fulfilling the words of Psalms 136.5,
"By intelligence He made the heavens."
(Plus there's Ps. 104.24;Jeremiah 10.12; 51.15).
Whereas Genesis has the Creator as a rank amateur,
Creating one thing first(Earth),
Then taking several more (scatter-shot) steps
to complete the job of constructing the universe.

Genesis has God creating outside of a logical, natural order.
While the Big Bang theory praises God by claiming that
The whole universe came into existence in a logical progression:
First in a single split-second release of raw near-infinite energy
(trillions of degrees of heat given off at the Big Bang),
which then cools into subatomic particles
(a single cosmic-wide cloud of hydrogen gas),
Which then splits up into countless separate clouds,
proto-galaxies, baby galaxies!

At the same time that the universe is expanding
(Due to the Big Bang),
gravity is compacting each hydrogen cloud.
These two opposite actions are happening simultaneously,
Demonstrating great skill(wisdom) on God's part.

The verdict is in:
The Big Bang gives more glory to God
Than does Genesis One.
So the Old Earth view is the truth.
Not the Young Earth view!
But this doesn't mean we are to abandon Genesis,
After all, it is part of the Bible, the Word of God.
Rather, we have to interpret it metaphorically,
According to the Big Bang theory(BBT).
Yes, Genesis One can be made compatible with the BBT!

Here's how:
()Take the creation of the sun(Day 4) as the "day"
of the creating the whole solar system, including Earth.
(2)So the Earth that is "void and without form"(Day 1)
Means the Earth is absent in Day 1.
The "darkness upon the face of the Deep"
is the darkness before the Big Bang!
"The Deep" is a figurative ocean of nothingness.
To the ancients the ocean connoted tempests, chaos.
So "the Deep" stands for the chaos,
the lack of order,the nothingness,
Before the creating of order,ie, the universe.

(3)Next,"Let there be Light!" is the moment of the Big Bang!
(4)So, the separating of "waters" from the "waters"(Day 2)
Equals the separating of the uncreated Void
From Space, the Space created at the Big Bang,
The Space containing hydrogen which is 2/3 of H2O(water).
The forward edge of the expanding universe separates them.
No wonder it is called "the Expanse"(in the N.I.V.)

(5)Take the "receding of the waters, exposing the dry ground"
(Day 3)to point to islands, for hill tops would emerge first.
Take them metaphorically for galaxies.
For as astronomer Herschel said,
galaxies are "island universes,"
ie, islands in the seas of space.

PS:Apostle Paul interprets the "Days" of Genesis One as eons.
For he writes that "by faith we understand that the worlds
were framed by the Word of God"(Hebrews 11.3).
But the Greek version of the New Testament doesn't say "worlds."
It says, "By faith we understand that the AIONOS were framed...
And "aionos" is where we get the English word eons.
Go to the library and pick up "Strong's Bible Concordance."
Look up the word "worlds" for Hebrews 11.3.
It gives you the number 165 in italics.
You look it(165) up in the back of the book.
#165 is aionos. It is that simple.

We HAVE TO interpret the "Days" of Genesis One as eons.
It's not optional, try to get that into your head.
For Paul wrote that, "If anyone preaches a different gospel,
let him be 'anathema'"(accursed),(Galatians 1.8).
"Eons" for "days"(Genesis One) is part of Paul's "Gospel."
If you go against Paul, you come under that curse!
If you take the "days" of Genesis One as 24-hour days,
You are a heretic who is going against the Apostle Paul.
