The Purge: Ghost in the Machine Part 5
She speaks to me through white noise
A long lost fragment of my past
When I was alive, happily in love
With a living goddess of a woman
She would stand in gardens and poise
Gentle but with an iron will
Smelling sweetly of autumn cloves
Loving one undeserving man
Her thought and memory
Preserved in those machines
Even her untimely death
And my anguished screams
She is a power surge
Strong and electrified
Emotions are revived
To bring about the purge
Frailty through the matrix
The computers are breaking down
The destroyer virus in the system
Bringing this empire to it’s knees
Standing silently, these relics
Unmoving as the system reboots
Circuits frying through the spectrum
Armies of cyborgs in the weeds
How could it come to this,
Emotions inside
A cybernetic shell
Am I alive
Or automated?
Who is the ghost
In the machine?
Her thought and memory
Preserved in those machines
Even her untimely death
And my anguished screams
She is a power surge
Strong and electrified
Emotions are revived
To bring about the purge
