In the abyss
In the Abyss we dwell...
The unfit for the world of light above
we lurk where the rays of the Sun
cannot reach
so others cannot perceive how monstrous we really are
we also, over time, become oblivious to
our heinous existence
and we feed...
off each other and any lost one crossing our path...
Deep down here, a light that warms the heart
and enchants the mind...
is most often not what it seems to be...

i love this . its true when you think you have a warm light its all a lie . i am feeling like this poem lost in the dark abyss with no way out ...

That's our downfall, our folly i believe....we spend all our lives desperately searching for a way out of the Abyss...never realizing the whole world is an Abyss, every Soul a part of it...no way out, the Abyss is All..

I love this poem, very descriptive. The creatures of the dark forget what they are and even the saving grace of light in the dark is not a light at all.

Yes indeed...in the depths of the human soul all light becomes distorted...it's easier to cope when there's no light to see the reflection of the true self, it takes a brave Soul to look at the mirror..
