What I Wouldn't Give
--What I Wouldn't Give----------
What I wouldn't give
To rediscover the patience
Like the first days of summer
That I spent with you
The way we've had to live
has created complications
that are unlike any other
I don't know what to do
What I wouldn't give
To find your warmth in the night
To know you're here by my side
To make peace and not fight
None of us win
Against the flames you ignite
With a fire so high
It stays etched in my mind
What I wouldn't give
To snuff out that deadly fascination
You seem to have with frustration
As you struggle within
Surrounded in sin
Overcome with temptation
Once we get wasted
We start over again
What I wouldn't give
To rediscover the patience
Like the first days of summer
That I spent with you
The way we've had to live
has created complications
that are unlike any other
I don't know what to do
What I wouldn't give
To find your warmth in the night
To know you're here by my side
To make peace and not fight
None of us win
Against the flames you ignite
With a fire so high
It stays etched in my mind
What I wouldn't give
To snuff out that deadly fascination
You seem to have with frustration
As you struggle within
Surrounded in sin
Overcome with temptation
Once we get wasted
We start over again
