 1. "True Enlightenment "
The blossom waiting to bloom
close the black hole would consume it
the cat prepares  to pounce but is hit by the car
its corpse is used as a play thing
in childish games

2
my fingertips
touched
the stars
held the horn of plenty
now like the oystercatcher children
of Victorian London
smoke and  mirrors
inferior dough
cookery cannot be betrayed

3

The stepping stones
were laid
in plain view
some years ago
you only have to look to see
pruning
trust the garden to grow
when the weather is good
the happy cat displays its belly
the fearful one is claws and teeth
so one
so all
we must be like flies
or the dung beetle

4
Roundabouts seem fun from the chute
dizzy to be on
doesn't spin from satellite
or so it seems
dust here too
do we bring our ancestors home from the beach
why do we burn them too

5
When it cannot flow
it stagnates
calm
but algae green
not all scars show
and some have more than you know

6
walking in crowds
of people
and foliage
pick and peck like the magpie
and watch like the owl
observes its prey
like the master glancing on the apprentice
like cinema  reel
the city is its own story
dive deep
and lay bare the bones of antiquity

7
suffocated
cannot reach above the canopy
crowded out
uprooted
withers and dies

8
The trees of Bilston Glen
are old
yet not in retirement homes
the dog might bite
but we're more afraid  of its bark

9
Like the wheel
turning
and  returning
70s Penicuik
flares
killing mist of Ladywood
duels in the park
burns bright then dim
ashes
dust of Dao's cloud
grain of sand
blade of grass
how far this journey
with few steps
with no steps
stays on the low
close to earth
no beginning
ceases to stop
exit signs are myths
