Lost
Please tell me Little Girl
Where you think you’ll go?
You try to leave so stoically
Though pained escape you show
You’ve: packed, moved, left endlessly
To motion and what for?
Doll, there ain’t no place
That you haven’t been before?
You still lookin’ for that cabin, Gal?
In the woods and far away
A space that’s calming/ still
You “say” a spot you’d finally stay
I’ve watched ya leave, my Dear
Between there and here, for years
Fighting my please, “come backs”
Harder so to hold back tears
Friend, no wonder you don’t write
With each journey you contrived
You can’t notion sending word
When one’s never once arrived
So again you walk away, Sweetheart
Out of sight though not my mind
In pursuit of unmarked ending
(The only thing you ever find)
I will always be here, Love.
Even though you’ll never learn
That you don’t need to wander off
So that I’ll welcome your return
Where you think you’ll go?
You try to leave so stoically
Though pained escape you show
You’ve: packed, moved, left endlessly
To motion and what for?
Doll, there ain’t no place
That you haven’t been before?
You still lookin’ for that cabin, Gal?
In the woods and far away
A space that’s calming/ still
You “say” a spot you’d finally stay
I’ve watched ya leave, my Dear
Between there and here, for years
