Moving On

My past memories are fading like sunset
Though it's easier to remember than it is to forget
Everything that's happened in my entire life
But I have to let it all go to set things right
Squeezing the scenes into sophisticated rhymes
Is soothing to the soul and makes sense of the times
I am just doing what's best for me
Though inner peace isn't easy to achieve
It's a struggle of doubt trying to figure it out
Yet I'd rather solve the mystery instead of running my mouth
And draining the energy out of life with constant complaints
So I'll hold my breath and practice restraint
And I already feel a growth in my strength
Letting go of sorrow, frustration and hate
One day I'll look back and appreciate this loss of something great
And find something better to make it all worth the wait
