Too Young to Understand

There is no such thing as being too young to understand
I personally have dealt with many "adult problems" first hand.
I see the world in black and white.
I've seen people give up while others fight.
I've soaked up the sunshine and I've sat in the rain.
I've experienced many emotions, especially pain.
I have witnessed new beginnings, and I have seen a tragic ending.
I know when someone's being real and when they're pretending.
I understand the importance of money.
I know when to be serious and when to be funny.
I've been hurt by someone I love
I've been vulnerable and taken advantage of
I've been hated and admired
At times I'm wide awake but I appear tired.
Although I have not yet made it to college
I am not too young to understand because there is no age limit on knowledge.
