WHAT IS A SLUT?
a slut is
LIKE A FRUIT IF IT COULD TALK
telling you to
just go ahead and
dig into
everything

I would suggest a delete on this entry.
It doesn't measure up to your other poems ....

Thanks for your suggestion. Of course a woman isn't a fruit , but I think her body is a lot like one. That's what I was trying to get across. Anyway, if I'm hit by more rotten tomatoes, I just might honor your suggestion.

The concept 'slut'
exists only in the
heads of weak men
who need to make
a woman a slut although
they themselves take advantage
of her so welcome willingness.

The term "slut" used to be a pejorative word, but here in the U.S. at least it's often used good-naturedly , meaning any young, attractive member of the opposite sex.

The term 'slut' is still a pejorative word, at least in the German language. Means that a woman is easy to have and to casually f*ck.
The urban dictionary for example relates the term "laid" to "slut".

Thanks for keeping on this subject. I think it's interesting. If you haven't already, you might find Wikipedia's definitions of slut rather various. Click "Alternate Usages" especially. Hope to read more of your short, but succinct poems.
Re: WHAT IS A SLUT?
I rather like this poem. To me, there are deeper meanings here. This poem is multifaceted, like a jewel cut with care and polished to a high gleam. I like the idea, as I see it, of flesh ripe and dripping with juices giving off such a delicious aroma that one fairly begs to devour. It is fascinating to me that everyone has assumed here that the poem refers to solely women, but the author makes no such declaration. Truly, a slut is genderless and could refer to anyone; in this poem, especially, it seems it is all about the ripeness of the fruit to be, potentially, had. The lusciousness available for plucking and losing oneself in. Verrry nicely done and in such a short span. I'm beginning to be rather envious of your talent, dear. :-*

After I wrote it, I worried a bit that I might be making that egregious error of English teachers everywhere of placing words or thoughts in the author's mind and I hoped, hoped, hoped I hadn't done that, but I thought maybe, just maybe I hadn't stepped too far away from your thoughts. You just seem to appreciate that lush, verdancy of sexuality so... :-D You are most welcome. It is I who should be thanking you; I've had ripe, dripping er, fruit on my mind all day now.
