Many Moons
Devoid of life and air, this spinning sphere draws us in
with its unblinking eye of timeless wisdom.
Thousands have yearned for its love enchantments
and sworn by its form to deliver custom-shone prophecies.
"Full moon, full charm, made of cheesy song lyrics, fly me there
and back. Easy on the backchat, man, they never did land there, right?"
All manner of minds ponder its power, while Artemis smirks
and takes another drag on her moonglow hookah.

Just in time for the showing of our blood moon must be symbolic for something.. I love the whole poem but the ending smacked perfectly poetic :) with love Crim

Guaranteed, when the moon changes, there's a backlash of bitches writing about the mother... but this is just so stripped back in its delivery that it actually makes me want to read it, rather than discard it as soon as I saw the word 'moon'.
The moonglow hookah is a beautiful image, the moon itself is almost a glowing end, breathing in natures sweet, sweet smoke, to a relaxed state of emphatic self-analysis.
So much win here. Thank you for the read.

Hello Missy, good to see you on my pages. I think you sensed what I felt. It was a sudden thought, "goddamn, what HASN'T been said about the moon?"
So pleased you like the result! Thank you for the comments.

The force of the moon is definitely a powerful one, at the fullest, it can literally make Oceans rise. Leaves one to ponder over its magnetism.
The moon compels us when full more so because we are made up of 60% water in my opinion, the lungs mostly. I won't go on haha :P
Great piece Ataki, much enjoyed. Got my mind off on a tangent also. :)

Such a truly fascinating poem, you wrote it on the day of the moon eclipse, seems you are the uncrowned moon queen of DU.
I saw that full moon with its intense orange flame of light, a huge full moon sailing through the skies....

Mourganna, you've tried to foist a crown on my head before this, hahaha, please keep it, the peasants on DU are forever revolting.
I saw the intense orange too, it was awesome. Thanks for visiting!

I knew one of my poets friends would go here after the lovely display this week, but I loved the walk you took me on. That lovely image at the end sealed it! I'll take a drag!

Your enthusiasm for DU is wonderful. I find your comments on my writing a little overwhelming. I know my writing has improved since I joined, and I owe a lot of my courage to encouraging comments like yours.
I do like to dabble in philosophical musings, and some leaked into this poem... I'm so happy you picked upon the nuances. When I posted it, it was in a frivolous mood, although the underlying thoughts winked at the subconscious, so to speak.
Thank you, Jack, for spending the time with my work, and for your generous comments.
