Dystopia     - this was written for my bestie!!

You make a wish on a shooting star just to find out it was a delusion
all hope is lost and courage gone, left searching for a solution
but there's nothing there, no whisper of laughter in the air, it's forbidden
so you close your eyes to survive

And you dream, for there's only love in your fantasies
fervently you pray, for better moments to pass your way
there's pain and hate and opened scars covering your light with dark
you can't escape, you aren't free
nothing's free...
but you dream, oh, to find relief from the bombshells pounding all around, rumors resounding
this nightmare has stolen your innocence and broken every glimpse of a smile in the aftermath
but you believe, despite all the times they say you're losing your mind
that this dystopia won't last forever

Once beauty in the little things, now you look for it in the ashes of rainbows crashing to the ground
you're left reaching for reality that doesn't come
still there's something there, a glimmer of peace drifting aimlessly, though forsaken
so you open your eyes just to see

And you dream, for there's only love in your fantasies
fervently you pray, for better moments to pass your way
there's pain and hate and opened scars covering your light with dark
you can't escape, you aren't free
nothing's free...
but you dream, oh, to find relief from the bombshells pounding all around, rumors resounding
this nightmare has stolen your innocence and broken every glimpse of a smile in the aftermath
but you believe, despite all the times they say you're losing your mind
that this dystopia won't last forever
