Who Knew

in memory of a wonderful person who felt too much pain..

I just want you to know you'll never be forgotten
they can tell themselves anything they want
I know you're one of a kind, fell out of the sky
you'll never get the chance to prove them wrong
because you felt what it feels like to have your heart shattered
to watch your world come crashing to the ground
and I hope they realize just how much it matters
to let someone know they're not alone

When you lost count of the times you'd fallen
almost given up and called it quits
but you picked yourself back up again
and just to think that you chose to end it
just like that and never be mended
I can't believe anyone would think of doing that to you
but who knew...
sometimes the sweetest souls are the troubled ones
sometimes you never think the things that came would come...
who knew...

I hope they see what they have done to you
I never knew you but I know how you must've felt
I bet they put it in your head that you were worthless
made some remarks that they wish they'd never said
i wonder what finally made you break
when you'd taken all that you could take
why would anyone do that to someone? it's so cruel

When you lost count of the times you'd fallen
almost given up and called it quits
but you picked yourself back up again
and just to think that you chose to end it
just like that and never be mended
I can't believe anyone would think of doing that to you
but who knew...
sometimes the sweetest souls are the troubled ones
sometimes you never think the things that came would come...
who knew...
