forced to see the blind superstition
of a malignant fear in session
taught to believe in old tradition
from faces hidden in recession

superstitions and rhythmic repetition
all teach us that lesson
foggy and dim intuition
yes, leading us away from regression

retreating from the bitter frost
dispelling sorrow at what cost?
welcoming time of a different ghost
drinking wine from a prominent host.

reflection on all that was lost
and all the bridges i've ever crossed
more introspective that most
humble souls shall never boast

living life on a merry-go-round
buried in caverns deep underground
left lingering with a horrid frown
slowly sinking just drinking it all down.

though know i am not to be clowned
morose throats cut with no sound
dressed in your tattered death gown
by a killer unknown, in a small town
