prisoner
He keeps me barred
He locks me in
Not with steel, with iron, with chain.
He keeps me prisoner with his helplessness.
I could have left,
I could have gone,
To an easier life
Without the stress
But I chose to stay,
To help him cope
To clean his house
And cook his tea.
I worry about him
This father of mine.
I’m the child taking care of the parent.
Couldn’t he show some gratitude?
He locks me in
Not with steel, with iron, with chain.
He keeps me prisoner with his helplessness.
I could have left,
I could have gone,
To an easier life
Without the stress
But I chose to stay,
To help him cope
To clean his house
And cook his tea.
I worry about him
This father of mine.
I’m the child taking care of the parent.
Couldn’t he show some gratitude?
