Normal

Everybody has that extraordinary place
That is like a portal
Where there is no time
Events last for eternity
Where part of me will always be in those moments
Except for when I am living them
Those moments are when I can breathe really open my lungs
and take a breathe of positive energy
I can taste the essence of my spirit of freedom
and of hope
Where the stars are brighter
And the wind blows gentler
That is my place
Where the heavens are closer
And ground is softer
This is my place
My special place
This is where I learned to live
Here I can fall
And get up on my own
But there is always someone there in case I need help
I learned to get up
How to walk
And how to run
I found the true magic in my existence
But that is in the past
time in my place has begun to move again
It is becoming normal
and I am going to loss it soon
I try and hold on
I grasp in the air
But I find nothing to hold on to
Holding my breath
I reach
My hands slipping on the wet surface
But after all
you can only hold your
breath for so long
So I let go
I feel myself sucked back into the normal world
I choke on the toxic air of the city
I look at the night sky but can't find any stars
They are lost
Just as I am
And I try and survive
Looking for a new special place
But everywhere I look is normal
I am the only one really living
Everyone else is wearing black
The world is going dark
My freedom in fading
I am a flower
But something is blocking the light
I am starting to wilt
I look around to notice I am the only flower in the garden
The rest are weeds
And they are thriving
I feel myself losing hope
My eyes are losing their brightness
My creative side is slowly shutting down
And soon it will stop
Just like the rest
I will exist
That is all
I will be normal
