Twirling, twirling away
She broke me.
I could feel the love

Through my fingers.
The sadness plagued me like
Rain crashing down on pavement.
Devastation took it's course.
As my mind twirled in circles,
I could feel my words lose their force.
It never occurred to me
How delicate I truly was,
Until I was "the lilac
That shed its fragrance on her heel"
As it stepped all over me.
She didn't just break my heart,
She stole it right out of my chest
And made my emotions twirl in circles,
And deprived me of my rest.
The unforgiving realm of shadows,
Draping their blinding veil upon my eyes,
Made it almost impossible
For me to smile.
I felt my bodily structure rust,
As it too, twirled away.
I tried my best to forgive her,
And I begged her to stay....
I could feel the love
