tattered poem
she writes an infinity of I-love-you’s
on linen stationery then crumples each
page & tosses it at the corner waste basket,
she scores 2-points on one out of every three
throws while the other little tattered & crumpled
almost-poems cuddle up to the base of that
monument to archaic romance, she does this
because love doesn’t need poems, love needs us,
you & me, holding each other so tightly it’s like we
will be sucked into each other’s body, so close as if
we were welded together, so let’s do that,
let’s love each other more beautiful than even a poem.

John great sentiments of love here.. I can relate to the lady writer who inks out love notes and then tosses them away I'm always out of my comfort zone showing my vulnerability.. beautiful ink :) with love and respect Crim

I love the pic -- it reminds me of myself sitting here and writing my little love poem, although I will post mine and hope he will read it and know how much he means to me........

That may be the true beauty of Love.
If you can't put it in words, take a moment and share it.
The morning is much better now,
To You John

This timeless sentiment is so endearing. I much love the soft passion that it expels. Brilliantly portrayed* and that vintage photo is simply a beautiful preservation of beauty itself.

It's true, lovers can write poetry with their bodies, beyond words... and will find solace in the page when they are alone.
