a blissful kiss, their hearts in tune
she is fully swoon
he said"be mine"
but she declined
she wont allow history to repeat
she wont be consumed by deceit...
again

"aaand cut!" love scene has ended
it was fun while they pretended
smiles exchanged
they went on their way.

At home in bed she starts to weep
through unfixed cracks, past hurt seeps
she wants to forget but its hard
she wants to move on, move on with him
but the chances of ever trusting again is slim

before eyes closed and sleep takes hold
a text on her phone she reads
"i will be your mender, my love wont
leave your step until you surrender,
you will be no one else's but mine,
even if i must wait 'till the end of time"

once more she starts to weep, but tears of hope
heart began racing, she wondered
"could this be the love I've been chasing?"
eyes finally closed, fingers on lips
