laughing into the wind now
a mirthless laughter
whisked away across torn topped swells
the sea drowning all sentiment
deep
deep
fathomless grave
for what was once

years of flowing emotion
multitudes of meandering words and wisdon
exploration of self and soul shared
endless continuity
emotions evolved
passions spent freely
souls spiraling skyward
love confessions

The madness was profound
deep
all encompassing
body
soul
mind
mingled
melted into one

not just one year or two
almost a lifetime

then inexplicably
cut off
heart closed
communication dissolved

was it me
she says it is
she blames my absence
my break in communication
she bricks in her heart
she holds me responsible

I do not hurt any more
I accept the end of our journey
the deadline
the cut off

I cry alone at night
wondering
the knowledge simmers against the scar tissue
love flaps against the window like a moth trying to reach the light
a lifetime is lost
