Sonnet of His Influence
i think i drowned in your eyes long ago
because my face is cold and pale as snow
my lips blue because they cease to draw breath
i was in this state when you up and left
death by ocean is mislabeled, they claim
for it is the victim's blood at blame
which grimy water lures into the lungs
leaving a beautiful life song unsung
somewhere in your heart that dead body lies
while the spirit is still here, sad and wise
sometimes she can still feel the misty wind
and she remembers the ocean again
and the fateful day she ran to it's shore
oh, if only the blue moon shone once more
because my face is cold and pale as snow
my lips blue because they cease to draw breath
i was in this state when you up and left
death by ocean is mislabeled, they claim
for it is the victim's blood at blame
which grimy water lures into the lungs
leaving a beautiful life song unsung
somewhere in your heart that dead body lies
while the spirit is still here, sad and wise
sometimes she can still feel the misty wind
and she remembers the ocean again
and the fateful day she ran to it's shore
oh, if only the blue moon shone once more
