My Crooked Smile
You foolish boy
With a kind smile
And a rhythm to your walk
You with the caring eyes
That look through damaged souls
And try to understand them
You couldn't possibly fall for me
That light you thought you saw
Glimmering from from my eyes
Is actually a warning call
You see my soul is aged and worn down
From nights spent in a bottle
And days spent hiding from the sun
My heart is an abandoned highway
Worn down from people neglecting it
No cars dare to come near
Silly boy
You think you can pry the pills from my throat
And take the bottle from my firm grasp
I live a life where suicide comes calling every week
And no matter how many times I cut the phone lines
It won't cutoff
I could never taint your perfectly innocent heart
So go
Run away
And never fall in love with a girl carrying a crooked smile
With a kind smile
And a rhythm to your walk
You with the caring eyes
That look through damaged souls
And try to understand them
You couldn't possibly fall for me
That light you thought you saw
Glimmering from from my eyes
Is actually a warning call
You see my soul is aged and worn down
From nights spent in a bottle
And days spent hiding from the sun
My heart is an abandoned highway
Worn down from people neglecting it
No cars dare to come near
Silly boy
You think you can pry the pills from my throat
And take the bottle from my firm grasp
I live a life where suicide comes calling every week
And no matter how many times I cut the phone lines
It won't cutoff
I could never taint your perfectly innocent heart
So go
Run away
And never fall in love with a girl carrying a crooked smile
