Arriving

Gone so long
running on pure steam
taking care of necessities
hadn't noticed my gait has changed

Taking care of others
looking out for their best interest
Caring about THEIR feelings...
When did I lose that tail?

Running around deliriously
Taking it for the team
losing myself in the rigmarole of life
those downy, ugly feathers have fallen off of me

When I did finally, totally slow down to reflect,this magnificent
regal, majestic creature was left
 with a force that invited a reckoning
power unparalleled
refusing to be ignored
finding the "I" in the scheme of things
 Here....now
