Precious Daisy
You don't notice the way she hides her face
long jeans, sweaters, do innocence replace
and she doesn't open up to you like she used to
begin to realize she never really trusted you
but it's not your fault
don't go and blame yourself
you did all you could but she hid too much
And that delicate flower has yet to bloom
strangled and withered,
she was too pure for the world to handle,
it tried to change her but she was too fragile
so she fell to the ground on her knees
petals fading and gone with the breeze
but she remained, fighting the chills
struggling as raindrops spilled from the skies
the child of spring and unknowningly lovely
a precious daisy rose from the dust
Pay no attention to how her voice cracks
hair over her eyes to shield from attacks
and she doesn't look as confident as she did
start to discover she will deny the hits
but you're not to blame
don't go and hate her fate
you tried your best but she just fell too hard
don't worry now, she's gaining ground
her past is gone behind the crowds
she'll say she's fine just like she always has
and like old times you'll hear her laugh
but for once you can believe
it's better now than before
that precious daisy is smiling a little more
And that delicate flower has yet to bloom
strangled and withered,
she was too pure for the world to handle,
it tried to change her but she was too fragile
so she fell to the ground on her knees
petals fading and gone with the breeze
but she remained, fighting the chills
struggling as raindrops spilled from the skies
the child of spring and unknowningly lovely
a precious daisy rose from the dust
