Hi
To walk upright with grace and a smile on my face;
sardonic, amused, only a hint of disdain.
I'm still learning to be as perfect as I can,
to know myself fully,
to change who I am.
And I see who you truly are.
The center of your self,
you tell my of your scars,
you whisper your secrets,
you share in the dark.
You trust me enough,
words twist a melody into your heart;
strike away your inhibitions,
you wanted this from the start.
I keep the focus on you
while you spill out your heart,
I don't wear mine on my sleeve,
knowing would tear you apart.
And so you think you know me,
you know only my mask,
unless I love you;
then will I tell of my past.
If not, I'll leave, you,
thinking you know me.
And you'll never know,
the little I've shown is nothing and empty.
sardonic, amused, only a hint of disdain.
I'm still learning to be as perfect as I can,
to know myself fully,
to change who I am.
And I see who you truly are.
The center of your self,
you tell my of your scars,
you whisper your secrets,
you share in the dark.
You trust me enough,
words twist a melody into your heart;
strike away your inhibitions,
you wanted this from the start.
I keep the focus on you
while you spill out your heart,
I don't wear mine on my sleeve,
knowing would tear you apart.
And so you think you know me,
you know only my mask,
unless I love you;
then will I tell of my past.
If not, I'll leave, you,
thinking you know me.
And you'll never know,
the little I've shown is nothing and empty.
