Scumbags?
and I thought the evident scumbags
were a problem…
Now I don’t know
what makes a scumbag
a scumbag.
At least life’s drop-outs still have the fire
to push through their circumstances;
they are yet to give their life away.
I’d rather sit in a bar
with a convicted junky
than I would a nine to fiver.
They drink only at the weekend,
they don’t know what to do
with the stuff.
They shout and bang
and their music is awful
and loud.
and and and and and…
They have accepted bullshit,
they are filled with bullshit
and they fire the stuff out
with a deep convinction.
Leave the evident scumbags alone,
let them fight their fight…
I say take out the nine to fivers;
they are dedicated,
unknowingly,
to a cause
much more sinister
than surviving
for the next hit.
