In Search for Your Hand

My heart has frozen over like a lake on a winter day
The sun doesn't have enough heat to melt the ice away
You had my love in the palm of your hands
You sucked the joy out of my life like quicksand
As I was drowning in my tears
Looking for you to ease my fears
I reached out in search for your hand
You never grabbed mine, I will never understand

The battle to save us, I fought day after day
You watched me struggle, then walked away
Built my walls up for protection of my heart
I believed you would be my knight from the start
My strength has gone weary in this fight
Like a blind person, I have no sight
Again I reach out in search for your hand
You still haven't grabbed mine, I will never understand
