Reflections of a Pot-smoker (pt.II: Mental Illness & Erotic Curiosity)

                    I. Ego & Ignorance

If no-one was in doubt,
The drug culture
has not lost it's appeal on me
Days go past
thoughts of
Other
things.

"Opium, obsessing over dead and outdated gentleman's/junkies addistion, what foolishness! How stupid!"

but it doesn't take much more
than a beautiful lamp, embroiled w/ silver
the seductive glass dome
or pictures
Jean Cocteau Pipe in hand
A woman surrounded by her accouterments
or the other dangerous and feminine beauties
of the much beleaguered and misunderstood
culture and past time

                            II.

At once the seriousness
of my desires hit
and it occurs, that shared mental illness
or deficiencies, draw people
to heroin,pills,(opiates)
marijuana and hashish
alchohol, most certainly

But,w/ sincerity
The desire to mix character w/ these drugs,
while not an impressive feat to many
as during the cultural revolutions
The 21st century
shows less of a sympathy
for these "misguided" desires
should they be confused
w/ our character

                            III

Make no mistake!

I write this for
dopeheads
fucked up and fucked
those who stand awkwardly by
well meaning
but can't stand falsity

Only those peering in
W/ erotic curiosity
can understand those who do not wallow,
but enjoy.
And to a lesser extent,
balance
their lifestyle choice

                IV. Offering of Object Obsession

In reality,
logic and apprehension
still hold a relatively firm grip on me
about the subject of my endless rantings
and fan-like gushing's
But the child like fear of inevitability makes
the most foolish jester out of us
in our youth.
And I only hope to stray away
from the paths I've seen destroy
Still, I hope the movers of chance
allow my old tools
to breathe life once again
