into the depths
decided to go back to
familiar waters so safe
and warm....sliding into the
liquid from where i once was born
curled into the fetal position
i drifted from the surface
as deep as i could go
till i felt the pressure against me
begging my body to reach
for air, i waited as long as i could
the light fracturing the surface
waiting for me to emerge
from the bottom,, my toes digging into
the sand, crouching, pushing,
my body rising swiftly
water rushing all around me
bubbles floating to the surface
as if they are guiding me there
breaking through clear glass
of moisture is a rebirthing all it's own
breathing in so deeply the warm moist air
creating waves rippling in every direction
gazing around me i see the smiling faces
of those who were wondering how long
i could hold my breath…
flirting with disaster
