Helios

With a gaze darker than night
Eyes blaze, hot as the Sun
I was burning but it felt right
Sparks flew like a bullet from a gun
 
Just a glance and it was gone
Distant flames across a cold moon
A second isn't very long
But it was enough to fall
 
Obligated to touch the Sun
I climbed atop the sky
But the heavens came undone
And I fell back into the night
 
I tried to find my voice
Silence was all I found
I was tortured from within
Without making a sound
 
I fell deep into the void
In the wake of all I had done
Everything I had destroyed
Just to touch the Sun
