Her path, after Death

She inhales her last breath
With the gun next to her head
She exhales as she pulls the trigger
A sharp, yet short pain pricks her skull
But then its over
Finally relief..

As dark fades into light a strange man stands before her

Tears streaming down his cheek
On either side of him there is a path
"Hello? Uhm.. where am I?" She questions
He doesn't reply for a few moments
Hoarsely he replies,
"Miss, you're dead."
This of course was no surprise.
"Where do I go?"
His reply is a pointed finger to the path to his left
She uncertainly starts walking, doubt filling her mind
The path is treacherous
Vines filled with thorns,
Growls coming from all sides
She is scared, but this path,
This death is still better than her life was

She reaches a staircase
It is some sort of red stone
She cautiously puts her foot on it
'Ow!'
A small exclamation escapes his her lips
She inhales, exhales and starts her descent
Ready for what is coming
Ready for her life after death
Whatever it is it couldn't be any worse than her life.

Reaching the bottom there is fire
A lot of fire
Surrounding her, almost consuming her
She looks around for some sort of direction
Or even for someone else
There is nothing
Not a person, not a sign
Suddenly a cry rings through the air.
She snaps her head around
Looking for the person, or thing that made the noise
Another cry fills the air
She runs towards the sound, hopefully to help the person
She stops waiting for another cry and a few seconds later another one pierces her ears
She must be close
She runs and finds a girl
But it wasn't just any girl
It was her
But it wasn't, the girl's wrists were clean
There was no bullet hole in the side of her head
She was unmarked, she seemed relatively happy
'What's going on?' She asked in an unsteady voice
The girl didn't reply,
She just shook her head and walked away
Leaving her to herself
Alone,
Like usual.
