The Last Time
The last time I saw you
It was so sad
Knowing the real truth
It makes me mad
Because I could have
Changed what became
A situation in which
We both went insane.
I sit in my room now
With my face in my hands
Just seeing how
I ruined our plans
If I could rewind time
Then truly I would
And set things right;
The way that they should.
But now what's it matter?
The past is gone
I hear your friends chatter
And they all say I was wrong
Yet if you saw things my way
You would understand:
Every time I spoke to you
I was too nervous to stand
It was so sad
Knowing the real truth
It makes me mad
Because I could have
Changed what became
A situation in which
We both went insane.
I sit in my room now
With my face in my hands
Just seeing how
I ruined our plans
If I could rewind time
Then truly I would
And set things right;
The way that they should.
But now what's it matter?
The past is gone
I hear your friends chatter
And they all say I was wrong
Yet if you saw things my way
You would understand:
Every time I spoke to you
I was too nervous to stand
