Friends
I'm happy with where we are
But mentally we've both been scarred
And even though sometimes it feels
Like what we have is falling apart
All i do is mentally press restart
Then I love who you are again
Because your my best friend
And the only one
Who gets me
Although
"I dont know"
sometimes
I feel like your lying
And even though deep down I know your trying
I can stand the bones in the closet rattling any longer!
In the past nothing kept me from crying

I like this poem because it reminds me of my own
special love/friend relationship I have with someone and yes we too have been scarred, and so it's easy to feel doubtful at times. My feelings for him are as true as a true love would make you feel and I don't lie to him, because to me that means being myself with him, and without that we wouldn't have what we have. That doesn't mean I don't feel insecure or doubtful at times especially since our situation is complex...and therefore I try to be understanding when he has his moments of doubt and pulls back a little. But same as you I usually press the re-start button -- it seems my feelings for him don't change
despite our difficult circumstances and the thought of him makes me genuinely happy. Long story short this I really like what you did here..... :) <3

Never easy being totally honest
personally i find it the way forward in any relationship
be it friendship or a loving one but that's me not every one so quick to do the same but if you see the whole picture then sure you would keep on hanging in there too
