Either Way I Lose
I lost myself today,
Got scared and ran away.
It’s so easy to run and hide
From the screaming in my mind.
Lost on what to do.
Where to go with who.
Dead inside I cannot see
The beauty others see in me.
It’s all too much to bare
I’m overwhelmed and scared.
Don’t want to feel, numb the pain
That’s quickly driving me insane.
The drugs silence the screams.
Turn my nightmares into dreams.
Only for a minute more
Then pain comes back full force.
I don’t know what to do/
Seems either way I lose.
Can’t face it all, so here I stay
Dying more and more each day.

The drugs silence the screams should have comma's I believe ? but anyway, "The drugs silence the screams. Turn my nightmares into dreams." Love these two lines.

Nice work! It's well written and expresses how drugs make an addict feel practically soulless. When I was using, I thought I lost my soul...but a few years after I quit abusing drugs...it came back to me. I wish you well

Man, this is so on point!! Grabbed my attention from gate! Keep writing& sharing eternally! Fight hard against writers block!!! Sometimes insomnia is the best influence!!
