The Box
He is gone.
Fled the sanctity of solitude only to be shot down
They peeled him apart limb from limb
They threw his heart into a box and locked it away
Black.
All around the box
Trapped.
Suffocating slowly. Slowly.
As the dioxide escapes his lips
Breath in. Breath out.
The imminence of the situation becomes more intense
Tap. Tap.
A knock on the box
Fear rattles his torn bones
A Girl.
She whispers hello
A shout back to go
But no
She won't because she understands
She opens the box and the light is blinding
Free.
Never had he felt so warm
Always stuck in between what was love, and what was torn
Gone.
They walk away hand in hand
Leaving the box behind in the sand
The waves crash around it as the wind blows the chime
This was their love
Once upon a time.
