EMBERS
So many souls look East
As sun sets in the West
And white faced Annapurna blushes.
Smoke clouds darken
As rivers snake beneath
And street lights ember.
Families cling at the airport doors,
Not looking for weary guests
But warmth.
Yet on the icy runway air
The sign in Tribhuvan reads
Nepal: Birthplace of Lord Guatama Buddha.
As sun sets in the West
And white faced Annapurna blushes.
Smoke clouds darken
As rivers snake beneath
And street lights ember.
Families cling at the airport doors,
Not looking for weary guests
But warmth.
Yet on the icy runway air
The sign in Tribhuvan reads
Nepal: Birthplace of Lord Guatama Buddha.
