So you like to write
And I like it too
But I also do right
Now tell me, do you?
When you are at fault
Can you admit to mistakes?
Do you feel guilt for wrongs
That you've accidentally made?
Would you ever consider
Sacrificing your pride?
Or does it always dither
When you know that you've lied??
Does your heart hurt
When you cause pain to another?
Is their meaning to your words
Or are they just a cover??
Do you format your sentences
To reflect pure love?
Or are they lines of deception
To be liked by everyone?
Would you flow like the ocean
And lay your soul on the line?
Spill out your emotion
Even when you fear the ride?
Although you may like to write
I really do wonder
If you know passion from like
And if you have authentic structure

As far as me, it's true
I appreciate the art of language
I know it can be of use
To free my love and anguish
And I'm more of a standard setter
I don't like to conform
Unpolished formatting, grammatic bender
Veer away from the norm
But whenever I turn left
And see something wrong with life
I ponder how to move ahead
And it brings me here to write
So then, I turn right
And provide my words with definition
Complexities spin through my mind
And I take action to fix what's missing
It makes me feel complete
In fact I feel it gives me strength
Writing is an essential need
To stretch my heart to great lengths

When I Look back to reflect
I compile all that I have learned
Along with all the self achievements
That I've done my best to earn
And I pass the knowledge on
To help people where I can
Honest advice, compassion strong
Just happy to lend a hand
And sure I can use some wordplay
To make a game of people's perceptions
But I prefer the sincere way
Letting actions take direction
Because although I may be crazy
And a bit of an all-nighter
I go beyond where words take me
And I consider myself a righter
