The Arctic Winter of the Soul
The trees of the forest are covered with leaves
like people wearing clothes.
Then winter comes and the trees lose all their leaves.
They stand together, naked and defenseless,
Like the Jews during the Holocaust were stripped of all their clothing,
right before they were herded into the gas chambers to be murdered.
The snow falling silently on the stark tree branches
is a picture of the enactment of the Final Solution.
For it is eerily similar to the Z. gas silently coming down
from the ceiling of the gas chambers.
In the forest, as the temperature becomes bitterly cold,
Dropping to well below zero,
it is reminescent of the insane hatred,
the bitter cold-bloodedness of the Nazi mentality.
Truly, the Holocaust was a time of the Arctic winter of the soul.
Ice sicles hanging from tree branches, not just swatstickas,
can serve as emblems for Nazism.
The branches of each tree reach out,
interlocking with the limbs of surrounding trees.
Likewise, the Jews embraced each other
as they realized their fate, their time to die, had come.
Fortunately, birds fly south in winter time.
That can stand for the souls of the Jews
departing their bodies in death during the Holocaust.
Immediately they find themselves enveloped in heavenly heat
as though they had arrived in south Florida.
Picture it: There God is,
As the angels apologize to the Jews
for letting them go thru the Holocaust,
Explaining that their suffering is God's means
for bringing about the return of the nation of Israel.
The Jews in turn freely apologize to the angels
on behalf of their ancestors in the first century,
for the part that those ancestors played
in the crucifixion of the Messiah
(whose death was predicted by Daniel(Daniel 9.24-25)).
What a scene of tearful reconciliation
there must have been in heaven,
Over and over again, during the Holocaust
as each new group of Jews arrived
after being killed in the gas chambers.
Think of the contrast:
They went from unbearable suffering and loss,
Experiencing even mass murder,
Over to unspeakable joy at death
as they enter into heaven.
Joy not only in terms of the thrill of entering heaven.
But joy to know that their deaths were not in vain,
That their suffering was used by God
to bring about the return of Israel!
After almost two thousand years of nonexistence,
Israel came back in May 1948,
only three years after the end of the Holocaust
and World War 2 in May 1945.
Tell me there wasn't a connection between
the Holocaust and that Restoration!!!
PS: How did the Jews' 6 million deaths contribute to the resurrection of their nation?
The leading Western powers felt deeply ashamed that one of their own, namely Germany,
had committed such a horrendous atrocity on such a large scale, and for so long.
To atone, the West (thru their creation of the UN) ran roughshod
over the vehement objections of the Arabs and turned the land over to the Jews.
That is something they wouldn't have been willing to do,
if not for the Holocaust putting steel in their backbones.
The barbarity of the Holocaust trumped all the objections the Arabs threw up.
The Holocaust didn't, by itself, bring Israel back, of course.
But it made that return certain.
Whereas, without the Holocaust, the return of Israel was not a sure thing.
Plus, it's a known fact that "20% of the Israeli army" of the 1948 war of independence
was made up of "Holocaust survivors." Twenty percent is not an insignificant amount.
Just think of how much of an inspiration they must have been to the other 80%.
That 20% may have been the decisive factor.
Perhaps without the input of that 20% the whole war of independence would have been lost!
One more thing, the Germans in WW2 knew what was causing
the smoke rising from the smokestacks of the furnaces in the concentration camps.
If they didn't know, it was because they didn't want to know. Willful blindness.
Likewise, if you refuse to see the role that the Holocaust played in the return of Israel,
it's because you (Michael Medved,radio talk-show host)
are willfully blind.
