Slumber Again
Falling in my bed as deep slumber tries to take place.
Keeping toes from going too close to the edge.
Because I'm still scared of the monsters under my bed.
They creep.
They crawl into my head.
Grab my ankles and drag me under again.
Clawing my skin.
Sometimes the visions seem so real.
Call it schizophrenia and laugh instead.
But when night comes, I'll be the one you dread.
Waiting for you to slumber again.
