The Murder of John McGarrigle

John was to meet Jim Ferguson
by the light of the Silvery Clyde

nothing unusual in that only
this time the tide was the tide

unknown to us the shift had been paid for
giving up its rotting well

hope being on the govt part
not one would be left to tell the tale

however friends have a way of remaining friends
even after the wars fire of bullets

so I will say this truth again
without stepping away

John was to meet Jim Ferguson
by the light of the Silvery Clyde
