Heavy Hearts and Tired Eyes (Part 1)
In a world so hateful, So angered and bitter to the bone
How do you hang on, To sanity and innocence inside
In a world so regretful, So sorry and unforgiven to the end
How do you hold on, To faith and hope of a better day
Life is never a constant, Death is always a remainder
We’re held down underneath a sky of devils and smoke
Our homes are burning, Our lives fading with the wind
Where is the savior we were promised the day we were born
Blame is thrown from brother to brother, Taken out on children
Hatred is taken out on loving sisters, Begging for a way out
We look the other way, We’ll never find a way if we refuse to accept this
Our hearts are black with ire, Where is the fire, Where is the passion
We used to rise against with the fury of a thousand angels
We used to love another with the fury of a thousand suns
We used to forgive each other with the fury of a thousand stones
We used to live again with the fury of a thousand rebirths
Now…oh now how much has changed, So much has changed
We’re burdened with guilt, The guilt of standing by and looking away
The guilt of giving up on our generation, And the next generation
My heart is crushed by this, And my words fall upon deaf ears
