I am Hip Hop
Many lie in their words, creation of nouns and verbs to self suit the ears of those who buy bull**** and pay with deprivation of the mind, see there was a time when power struck fear into the rest of America, as white America raced to ban the soundscans of the sounds of inner city neighborhoods, niggas with attitude and po pimpers, even had drifters beat boxin on garbage cans feelin like they were the man, numbers raked up and we seen our voice reach Mars, cause even there, extraterrestrial beings could even see that Americas biggest fear was the fear of a blackplanet, lyrical essence was contested through battles on street corners with crowds in three striped gear, openin their ears and waitin to hear who would win this war, and how it would affect them, see back then, this had meaning, there was no leaning on anothers style, cause for a long while, you couldnt even tell what was comin next, a man whose mama rode with black panther sets, who could go from street to philosophical, and his lyrics werent his image, it was his emotion that seperated him above the rest, the 18th letter was the one that put all to rest, cause what he lacked in emotion, his lyricism diminished competition, and crooked eyes and big hearts, made a big man spit a delivery that was never before heard of, a lot of other folks busted rhymes, tribes called quest claimed their own territory that even Columbus couldnt take over, and eventually, we seen the birth of JeHOVA, no religion in this one, cause when he went one on one with the one who made deathly predictions, it was truly what had been missin in a long time, now, this is trash, got wanna be bloods who first album cover was sporting blue rags, men in women clothes, some even put lipstick on, bubble gum raps that are wrapped up by labels, and thrown out after money is made, and while they get paid, my craft takes a loss, it used to be an investment, and now, it needs to be resurrected, cause its been dead for the last ten plus years, the only thing that aged in that decade, was the fifty cent that turned into 400 million plus dollas, cause ever since him and two Outkast from society went diamond, everyone else started sporting cubic zirconia, my name is hip hop, and I am now dead, may I rest in peace
