Breath of life

I woke up this morning in quiet meditation
Reminded once again by the memories
Memories of my senseless addictions
And the destructive tragedy
Of mind altering transformations
An epiphany strikes to reveal the beauty
Of how it was all meant to be

After decades of blinded vision
I’m now searching for clarity of mind
Seeking truth and understanding
To leave my past behind
So I’m asking for forgiveness
For all my selfish sins
Even though I've made bad choices
The fallen can surely rise again
Lord, you've opened up my jaded eyes… and they now see
That your love is truly changing me
I’m no longer in the darkness
In it’s absence only light
Through Faith it’s all been chased away
As a thief into the night

I hungered for the sun to rise
While waiting for the moon to fade
Yearning for your breathe of life
And the dawning of a brand new day
