Winter Winds
Winter winds blowing,
Scattering bits of my self-respect
Until there is nothing.
Now I am smiling, laughing with you,
But inside, I am empty.
Holiday cheer is fake;
It is only an attempt of pathetic people
trying to mooch others out of their wallets.
I do not believe in beauty internally,
because all me is ugly.
Winter winds blowing,
only cutting deeper into me
Bleeding joy, hope, and love onto the cold tile floor.
Scattering bits of my self-respect
Until there is nothing.
Now I am smiling, laughing with you,
But inside, I am empty.
Holiday cheer is fake;
It is only an attempt of pathetic people
trying to mooch others out of their wallets.
I do not believe in beauty internally,
because all me is ugly.
Winter winds blowing,
only cutting deeper into me
Bleeding joy, hope, and love onto the cold tile floor.
