I Overslept
Never would I have imagined,
I'd lay still. Afraid to
continue to keep fighting for
today, and that I'd try to
climb back into yesterday.
I can hear the alarm, but I can't
move a muscle. I feel weak,
i'm tired, a string of excuses,
doubting my very reason of existence.
Can't see over that tall hill, I'm stuck
in a cloudy mist of nothingness.
I can't stay here, I must move,
I must stand up, stand up for myself.
I must call in. I'm running late today.
I apologize success.
I..I overslept.
I'd lay still. Afraid to
continue to keep fighting for
today, and that I'd try to
climb back into yesterday.
I can hear the alarm, but I can't
move a muscle. I feel weak,
i'm tired, a string of excuses,
doubting my very reason of existence.
Can't see over that tall hill, I'm stuck
in a cloudy mist of nothingness.
I can't stay here, I must move,
I must stand up, stand up for myself.
I must call in. I'm running late today.
I apologize success.
I..I overslept.
